One Woman's Journey into Manhood and Back Again

I discovered this book listening to a podcast interview with Norah. She was actually discussing her second book: Voluntary Madness, which is about her admitting herself into a mental institution following the severe depression she incurred while researching Self Made Man. To hear that she suffered such emotional distress at the experience of infiltrating the male underworld was incredible intriguing.

I, myself have been fascinated with observing the male gender. My fiancee, both easy going and extremely handy, has always had a diverse group of male friends. With all their differences, they seem to easily bond over classic male interests: cars, technology, sports, motorcycles, etc. If they are fortunate enough to connect on a more sensitive, emotional level, that connection seems to forge for a lifetime.
